Calling all servant leaders!

HandsOn Central Ohio - Calling all servant leaders!

We're looking for the perfect team member.

At HandsOn, we cultivate leaders who serve the community with their talents, passions, and competencies. Our staff exemplify servant leadership every day by living out our core values:

Listen. Serve Others. Be a Good Partner. Inspire. Embrace Difference. Get Things Done. Lead with Conviction.

The nonprofit sector is considered the heart of the workforce. As an organization, we get to lead with our heart and passions every day, and we are not asked to leave the best part of ourselves at the door. Our Information and Referral Specialists serve as the heart and soul of our 2-1-1 operations. Day after day, they answer inquiries from community members in need, and connect those residents to the appropriate resources to alleviate their need.

Above and beyond that, they also possess the unique capacity to impact someone in a positive way by listening with compassion, communicating with empathy, and inspiring hope where there is none. Our staff live out our organization’s core values every day because they reflect their own personal values.

Here are some words that a few of our specialists shared about their work with HandsOn:

“What I like most about working at HandsOn is the ability to help others in a time of crisis, as well as being able to empathize with clients who are going through a really hard time in their lives.”  Rakiya Harris, 2-1-1 Team Lead

“What matters most to me is the connection to the individuals in our community. Doing follow-up calls really gives you a chance to connect with the community and see the difference you have made in someone else’s life.” Deidra Worthington, I&R Specialist

“What matters most to me about the work that we do is that we don’t offer a handout, we offer a hand-up, an encouraging word and confirmation that we care that others are hurting. My goal is to mend or replace some of the hurt with love. Every day someone says thank you and you can hear the sincerity in their voice, is a proud moment for me!”  Barbara Beck-Culp, I&R Specialist

Serving with us is more than a job, it’s an opportunity to start and end each day knowing your work is a vital piece in the broader community efforts to alleviate poverty in central Ohio.
