National Volunteer Week

HandsOn Central Ohio - National Volunteer Week

Did you know that we celebrated National Volunteer Week this month? Established in 1974 and organized by Points of Light, National Volunteer Week is a time to uplift the dedicated volunteers who make the world a better place.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Thank you to those who give their time in food pantries, gardens, clinics, classrooms, and beyond. Thank you to those who rally their friends to tackle challenges in Central Ohio. Thank you to those who take a step forward when everyone else steps back.

Look at what we’ve accomplished over the last year as a direct result of volunteer service in this community:

315 volunteer projects
15,265 volunteers served in partnership with HandsOn Central Ohio
62,726 hours of volunteer service contributed
$1,548,704 generated in volunteer service value

Nominate a Volunteer

Do you know a phenomenal volunteer who’s making an impact? You can nominate them to be featured on our social media by liking our Facebook page and messaging us with the details. We’ll reach out to any nominated volunteers to learn about their work. Then, in the following weeks, we’ll share a few of those volunteer stories on our social media. Stay tuned!

Get Involved

There are so many ways to foster positive change in a neighborhood. If you’d like to get involved, but don’t know where to start, then check out our volunteer center. On any given day, we have more than 100 volunteer opportunities to fill, which means that you can find the perfect fit for your schedule and skillset.

We hope you start your week feeling appreciated, energized, and motivated. Together, we can make our dreams for the future of this city a reality.
